Not the faintest clew Leen found to his whereabouts. “He went to his office as usual two weeks ago today,” Mrs. Haynie at her home in Great Neck, L. I, failed to return home at dinner time. The following mearning his office re- ceived a telegram from him, but be- yond that we have not heard a single thing. “I immediately notified the police of his disappearance, and after they had s ched in vain for a week I called in a private detective agency. We will spend every cent we have to find him. T can canceive of no reason why he should have dis- appeared. There are financial difficulties, how- ever, of which Mrs. Haynie had not heen informed, as became apparent in the federal court vesterday, when a petition in bankruptey was filed against the Marine Oil Engine com- pany, of 30 Church street, of which Haynie president. According ta 1the petition, the firm has liabilities of 50,000 and assets of less than $1,000 worth of office furniture and fixtures. Tt is alleged in the petition that while the company was insolvent it trans- ferred sums of money to Haynie. The corporation capitalized at $200,000, and a peculiar situation cxists in regard to its officers. Ac- cording to the corparation directory, the firm’s vice president is Samuel J. Shivers, of Great Neck, and its treas- urer is Miss Agnes V. Dugan, of 524 Flatbush avenue, Brooklyn, “Do you know where either Shivers or Miss Dugan can be reached?” Mrs. Haynie was asked. COlaims Total $10,400. “Oh, they are not officials of the farine Oil Engine company,” she re- plied. “‘Mr. Shivers is a former em- ploye of Mr. Haynie and Miss Dugan is his stenographer.” Claims presented against the Marine Oil Engine company in the bankruptey petition filed - yesterday include that of J.
