Following are the cardinal points of the patriotic work in the New Brit- ain schools Love of country, Respect and loyalty for the flag. Good citizenship. Appreciation of the service of our country’'s defenders. The flag flies over every school building, and displayed in every school room of elementary and gram- mar grades. The flag salute is given on all ap- propriate occasions, being familiar to all pupils of elementary and grammar grades, as are the national songs. In every school is posted a card, on the “Display of the Flag," setting forth the appropriate and respectful use of the flag for all occasions. All patriotic holidays are appropri- ately observed in the schools, especial attention being given to Memorial Day. It is needl tha tion of the sacrifice and se country’s brave defende dead, is fully alive in sacrifice and to say apprecia- vice of our living and the hearts of all pupils. The School Council. Tn reference to the work of the School Council the Tablet outlines the topics for the year as follows: The topics determined upon by the School Council for the year's consid- tion have been announced in its year book. They include: 1. Under this heading its sa; Under the auspices of the United Parents’ and Teachers' Association of New Britain this city will entertain the Connecticut Congress of Mothers in its annual convention to be held April 27th and 28th next. This is an important event. The interests of parents and teachers are the fundamental interests of civiliza- tion. To the extent that their work as parents and as teachers is conscien- tious, generous and intelligent, to that extent is the safety of following gen- erations assured, and the other wor- thy work of the world worth while. It is very suitable that an organiza- tion comprising large numbers of fa. thers, mothers and teachers should he ambitious to welcome this body of mothers in their organized effort to further the welfare of children; and there is no doubt that, with char- acteristic zeal, it will spare on effort | to malke the conditions such as will - = - contribute to the effectiveness of the convention. A large por- tion of deaths from pneumonia directly result from heart failure. Duffy’s Pure Malt Whiskey Judiciously used is one of the most efficient means of preventing or overcoming it.” The reason it is a remarkable remedy in the treatment and relief of grip, coughs, colds, influenza, bronchitis, catarrh, pneumonia, and all diseases of the throat and lungs, is that Duffy’s Pure Malt Whiskey aids in keeping the di- | gestive functions in healthy condition so that the body gets the necessary health and strength from food eaten—enabling it to throw off disease germs. For more than 56 years it has brought the blessings of health to overworked men, delicate women and the sickly, who find in Duffy’s the strength-giving § properties that are so necessary to them. ““Get Duffy’s and Keep Well.” Sold in SEALED BOTTLES ONLY.
