NEW, BRITAIN DAILY HERALD, FRIDAY, JANUARY 28, 1916. was considered one of the best droll comedians on the American stage but who in this play is not given the prop- er material with which to work. His one song is anything but funny, and the comedian has to almost work him- self into a fret to get a “laugh.” This should not be so. He has proven bet- ter on numerous other occasions as, | for instance, in “The Spring Maid.” Tt is fortunate Mizzi Hajos has a part just suited for her versatility and that there are working with her such won- derful singers as Carl Ganvoort and Christie Dane, who score in two or three wonderful duets. The music, as a whole, goes better in the concerted numbers there being but one number that is liable to be taken out of the house by the whistling contingent,— | that is, “Evelyn,” sung by Mizzi Hajos. The story of the comic opera,—it is so labeled,—is well worth while and lends itself admirably to its many unique situations. A prima donna in a new show has been given the part of a boy pick-pocket. She is in her dres- sing room when thieves enter and at- tempt a robbery. The police, having been “tipped off,” Taid the place and take their prisoners, mistaking the star for a member of the gang. With all children there are times when the bowels fail to act naturally and it becomes necessary for the par- ents to administer a remedy. Cathar- tics and purgatives should never be used as these agents afford only tem- shocks the system unduly. Mrs. Eva F. Gaff, 517 10th St., Washington, D. C., says that her little girl, Marie, had been subject to constipation, and that she found Dr. Caldwall’s Syrup Pepsin the best remedy because of its mild- ress, and now always keeps a bottle of it in the house. Dr. Caldwell's Syrup Pepsin is a compound of simple laxative herbs, free from oplates or narcotic drugs of any kind, and is an ideal remedy for children because of its mild action and positive effect. Its wuse tends to strengthen the impaired bowel action and restore normal regularity. It is important that parents should know of a dependable remedy with no unpleasant after effects, griping or rorary relief while their violent action | Darents Should Know this Splendid Remedy G n MARIE GAFF, strain.
