Collections in Tax Office Fall $1,025.07 Behind. November was cne of the few months in which Tax Collector Loomis did not show an increase in collections over corresponding months in past years. Charged With Murder, Fraiter will be charged by State’s Attorney Hugh M. Alcorn with mur- der in the first degrce, it being charged that on the night of October 18, sometime after the hour of 11 o’clock, ne went to the home of Ju- lius Gruscha on Booth street and, fol- lowing an altercation shot and in- stantly killed the latter- Fraiter is to be defended by Lawyers Morris D. Saxe and F. B. Hungerford. According to the story told by Mrs. Fraiter and Mrs. Gruscha, the only two witnesses to the actual shooting, Fraiter went to the house to see his wife from whom he had been estranged. Following words with her he drew a revolver to shoot 'her. Gruscha interfered and grappled with the armed man. During the struggle two shots T out and Gruscha feli to the floor dead. Fraiter attempted to flee but was caught by Watchman Fagan, who was on duty at one of the nearby factories. Officer Gustav Hell- berg subscquently placed him under , arrest. ' Two Previous Convictions, Should Fraiter be tried and con- victed by jury of first degree murder he will have to forfeit his life on the | gallows at Wethersfield. He is but thirty years of age. The last two murder cases which have been taken to the superior court from New Britain and tried by State's Attorney Alcorn have resulted in conviction and the execution of the murderers. These two cases are the murder of Mrs. Louis Saxon by her husband and the murder of Rev. Joseph Zebris and Miss Eva Gilmanai- tis by Bernard Montvid. | Other Local Cases.
