It was r¢stimated that over 1,800 persons were in attendance when the service opened at 7:30 o’clock. Father Casey delivered a stirring sermon covering a general discussion on the welfare of men. During his discourse he took an occasion to rap the socialists and also referred to ,John D. Rockefeller and to Yale Uni- | *'versity. The speaker is one of the most brilliant talkers who has ever appeared at a mission at the church, and his talk was listened to with a keen interest by tae congregation. An | outline of the services similar to those held by the women during the past week was given. The closing of the mission for the women was held yesterday afternoon commencing at 3:30 o’clock, and all records for attendance were broken, when a crowd estimated at 2,300 constituting members of various churches about the city of the Cath- olic faith and also other denomina- tions. It was announced that over 12,000 women went to confession and gommunion during the past week. ¥ There was a large attendance at the services this morning and indications are that the record attendance estab- lished by the women during the first week of the mission will be eclipsed this week. Mission at St. Joseph's. Rev. Patrick Daly, pastor of St. “Joseph’s church announced at the masses yesterday that the Passionists Band of missionaries would conduct a mission at the church from April 2 to 16.
