Baltimore, Md., Aug. 17.—Pending the investigation of accusations that he is the perpetrator of the “ripper” murders in New York last spring, a man who says he is Edward Jones and is charged with attempting to defraud a local boarding house keeper, is held by the police. A woman calling herself Grace El- liott, who was arrested with Jones, ac- cused him, according to the police, of having slain Anna Cohen and Charlie Murray, the two New York children whose bodies were fiendishly mutilat- ed. The woman, acording to the police, said she and Jones were employed at Bellevue hospital, New York city, last spring, and that Jones had confessed to her having killed a little girl and later a boy. Worcester, Mass., Aug. 17.—Sister Agnes Aloysius, superior of the con- vent of Notre Dame in Brookline for the past nine year, died suddenly ves- terday in Notre Dame normal institute at Lake Quinsigamond from a stroke of apoplexy. She had come to Worcester three weeks ago to make the annual retreat with other mem- bers of the order and had just fin- ished her devotions yesterday when she fell from a chalir to the floor, dead.
