New Haven, Aug. 11.—Word was received here yesterday that an auto- riobile driven by Harold Pumpelly, the Yale football and baseball player, bad struck and killed & man. Further particulars shwed that, on Sunday night, Pumpelly in his car ran over and killed James Hoagland, a negro, who was lyng drunk in the road near Oswego, N, Y., the man dying two hours later.
