JOSEPH M. HALLORAN 50c u 238 Main Street. DR. GREENBERG CAN ONLY VISIT CHILD | charged for a ticket a foot long, di- Former Local Physician and Wife Figure in Divorce By a decision of Judge Lucien I. Burpés in the superior court yestey- day, Mrs Matild A, Greenbersg, wife of Dr. John D, Greenberg, a former local Physician, is to have custody of their child until the question of their di- vorce is definitely settled. - Judge Bur- pee, however, ruled that Dr. Green- berg may visit his child once & weock at his mother-in-law’s home and may see the child in the presence of its grandmother, but in the absence of its mgather, as, the court explained, “sparks fly pretty quickly when Dr. Greenberg and his wife meet.” Dr. and Mrs. Greenberg formerly lived in West Majn street in this city and last summer, after some domestic troubles, Mrs, Greenberg left her hus- band and went to her parents’ home in Hartford. Subsequently she tried to have the 1dcal authorities prosecute him for mnon-support and finally did get the Hartford authorities to do so. Later Mrs. Greenberg, through Law- yer Sidney E, Clarke of Hartford, sued ' her husband for divorce and he has retained Judge F. B. Hungerford of this eity. Doctor and Lawler Clash, On the witness stand yesterday Mrs. Grgenberg scemed on the verge of a cpl e when her husband spoke up and said: “I'll take care of her, Mr. Clarke, if you want me to.” “I don’t care to have you and she don’t care to have you either,” the lawyer told the doctor. “If you had minded your own bu ness this wouldn’t have happened, the physician shot back. ‘Wife Scores Husband. Supporting his petition for custody of the child, Dr. Greenberg ) states that his wife does not give it the proper care. She works in a store all day and goes out frequently at night, he said. Denying this, Mrs. Greenberg said she did not go out nights and that -on the other hand her husband had taken the child out auto riding on several occasions and when he had left the child was taken sick from being: overfed with candy. She also declared that the doctor haad insulted her and her parents and furthermore had assaulted her. - In another charge she declared that she knew Dr, Green- berg gives up her position in a store known as Blanche Evans at the Hotel Regal. fter some further discussion Judge Burpee decided that if Mrs. Green- berg give up her position in a store and stayed home to care for the child she may have it in her custody.
