Bradley reported re- ceipts of §5,398.12 and disbursements of $6,849.38 for the year. Rector Bodley explained that the deficit of $961.26 was for two years, last year's deficit being $478.96 and this year's $472.30. H. H, Noble, the senior warden, said the .only large expense of the year was the installation of the heating plant at a cost of $725. The balance in the Henn fund is $258.15. The rector’s report on the funds which pass through his hands follows: The Communicant Arms and Chaz- ity gift fund only had a balance of $1:32 in the treasuyy at the beginning of the vear. The - offerings - were $372.67, and gifts $241.62, ‘making a total of $615.61. The expenditures were as follow: For charity $205.72, altar including candles, wine ani wafers for the com- munion service, Christmas decarations and washing of vestments for choir, an item of $50, the sum of $133.9 aged and infirm clergy $25.44. A big public meeting in the inter- ests of the Boy Scout movement in New Britain will be held in the Gram- mar scheol hall on Friday evening, June 4. The meeting was authorized | at Jast night's meeting of the New Bri- tain Council, Boy Scouts of America, held in the Chamber of Commerce rooms, and arrangements will be made at once . by Scout Commissioner Stanley Sheldon for a speaker from the National headquarters in New York. It is expected that a speaker of national promiinence will be se- cured. A feature of the public meeting will be exhibitions by the Boy Scout troops of ‘e’ city in first aid, arills, “sig- nalling, knot tying, and other special- ties. P ? A series of rallies for the Boy Scouts of the city will be heid from time to time when. talks will be given by experts on geology, astronomy, bird lore, and flowers so that the boys will become familiar with the objects they see in their hikes and jn every-day life. FOR CITY PRINTING Clinton - Printing Company’s Bid Re- jected as Incomplete and Other Firms ‘Will Do the Work. All bids for municipal printing submitted at a meeting of the coun- cil committee on supplies and printihg last week were taken up again last night by the committee and it was de- cided not to award the contract to the Clinton Printing company as had pre viously been done. Theé bid of the Clinton Printing company was de- clared to be incomplete and was re- jeeted. The contract for printing the mu- nicipal record was awarded to tné Record Publishing company and theé contract for printing the council mi- nutes and the roster of the govern- ment was awarded to the Eastern Printing and Publishing company. There were the second lowest bidders on the respective jobs. Councilman John A. Dolan, chair- man of the committee, explained the action of the committee by saying that the committee had heard a great deal of talk regarding the awarding of the contract to the Clinton Printing campany. *Those people soaked us when they had us before,” said Chairman Dolan, “They didn’t give as much on a page as other companies would.
