Charged with stealing fifty cents worth of coal from the New Britain Lumber and Coal company, Charles Drensick was fined $5 and costs by Judge J. T. Meskill in police court this morning. He was also fined an additional $5 and costs for drunken- ness. Drensick’s wife was in court a week ago and fined $2 and costs for stealing lumber from a new build- ]lng on Chestnut street. Officers Louls Quinn and Herbert Lyons arrested Drensick at 3:30 o’clock this morning as he was emerging from | the shadows of the coal yard. The { man was drunk and put up such a fight lthat the policemen were compelled ta handcuff him. As Officer Quinn ‘nut it, when asked if the prisoner ! made any statements when arrested, | “we couldn’t get anything out of him | but fight.” | The accused denied stealing the coal and declared he picked it up along the tracks.
