N It's a far cry from “drying” a single county in a State by the local option process to national prohibi- tion through an a:-endment to the federal constitution. Captain Hob- son’s propaganda has a long and rocky road to travel before that con- summation has been achieved, but as the captain is now a statesman out of a job he will have plenty of time to give to the work, and the Chau. tauqua route, while hardly a prim- ‘rose path, is still a pretty good pay- ing proposition for the right man. O Well, it’s the day after, and if you didn’t have a good time yester. terday or you had too much of a good time it was probably your own fault. Nature surely did her part and provided such a flood of glorious sunshine, tempered by fleecy clouds and the gentlest of zephyrs, that weather made to order could not have been more nearly perfect. We have passed another of the great monuments set up by Christian eciv- {lization to space the journey through life, and here goes for an- other lap which promises to be crowded with bigger events bearing more vitally upon the nations of the earth than any year since the high- blood mark of the French Revolu- tion. Let us all pray that one of these shall be universal disarma- ment that shall mark the end of the hell-born business called war and the beginning of the reign of peace between the nations that shall en- dure forever. 7, S, AN OPINION OF FLORIDA THAT HAS VALUE & As is inevitable in exploiting a|A.
