This would geem infinitely preferable to accepting a minor office now, anu being out of the running for any office for several years more. Num- bers of club women recognize Tam- pa's rightful claim for recognition and are outspoken on the subject. Ten years ago, Tampa was given this very office, and by it and a sec- ond vice presidency, kept quiet. It ig but just to say, however, that l “Wedding neither of the former incumbents were present when they were elect- ed, one being elected at the Miami convention of 1905, and the other at Tallahassee in 1906, when the elections were changed by the new constitutions. “With the revision of the consti- tution and by-laws, the election of officers and other appointments to be considered, Federation politics will run, high at the Lakeland con- vention, and many club women will get their first experience in matters political and their education in this line will be watched with interest. It is thus the women are being trained to cope politically, and inci- dentally get ready for suffrage.
