Delightful Sachet Shower For Miss Groover The Plant City Courier has the following to say of a shower given there for Miss Groover: Miss Rose Marie Smith was a charming hostess Saturday after- noon at the home of her cister, Mrs. C. B. Root, honoring Miss Suella Groover, of Lakeland, with a sachet shower. ! The guests were cordially re- ceived by the hostess’ mother, Mrs. Bessie Smith and stster, Mss. C. B, Root. fntroductions to the honoree and visiting ladies were made by the hostess. The guests were scated in the parlor and library and spent the greater part of the afternoon mak- ing sachets, coat-hangers and other dainty ribbon favors for the popular bride-to-be. After the attractive gifts were finished and gathered into a willow ' basket they were presented Ly the hestess to the honoree. | Miss Evelyn White then delighted the guests with two vocal sclections, “I Love Thee” and “The Owls’ Courtship,” accompanied on the piano by Mrs. P. G. White. Mrs. Bennett Land, Jr., gave two read- ilngs very appropriate to the occa- sion, the first “Tragedy” and the other “Her Folks and Hiz'a."” These numbers were received with much applause and added greatily to the pleasure of the afternoon. Refreshments of cream and cake were served by Mrs. Smitn and Mrs. Root. The cream was made in the wedding colors, pink and v hite, and the vases of cut flowers in the rooms also carried out the color scheme. Miss Groover is one of Lakeland's most popular young ladies and her approaching marriage to Roscoe Skipper is of much interest to her many friends here. The wedding .wlll take place Nov. 12 in the [First Methodist church in Lakeland. The out of town guests present at the sachet shower given by Miss Smith were: The honoree and mother, Mrs. WI. R.
