A short and instrudtive talk to the Sunday school was given hy Bishop Mann. At 11 o’clock the ante-commmunion service was followed by a very in_ teresting and scholarly sermon on the subject of the saints on earth and the saints at rest, delivered by Bishop Mann. After which he con- firmed a class of ten, making them communfecants of the church. The sacrament of Holy Com- munjon was then administered, of which about fifty received. The music was especially gmn'..' being very appropriately selected ¥s befitting the day and was most ar- tistically and faultlessly rendered by the choir and congregation. Financial Aid " Is Needed By- Lakeland’s Band Prof. B. M. Janowski, leader of the band, has been appointed man- ager as well as director of the band for the coming year. Mr. Janowskji reports that the band is in a rundown condition and that some change must be made if we wish to have a good band this winter. Come on, folks, let’s give the band a lift. We can afford to have a good ball team every year, so why not help the band boys. All they want is enough to pay expenses. Help the band financlally. At the present time they are receiving $25 a month from the cify and $8 from citizens a total of $31. This amount must pay a leader, buy music, pay hall rent, electric lights, etc. How can they do this on $31 a month and turn out a good band. Wauchul- la pays their band $78 per month besides hall rent and music ex- penses. Now, let’s encourage our boys. A band is a good advertise_ ment for any city. CARL KERN.
