The lodge room had been converi- ed into a beautiful ball room, bunt- ing in the lodge colors, white and purple, having been artistically draped around the walls and other- wise used to striking advantage. An interior decorator had just complet- ed the work of embellishing the walls above the officers’ stations with an Elk's head and the motto significant of each station, which were much admired, the artistic work adding much to the appear- ance of the already handsome lodge room. In the club rooms an entire wall had been ornamented with the words ‘“Lakeland Lodge No. 1231, B. P. 0. E.,” combined with which had been grtistically painted a giant elk’s head and a large clock, the hands of which were pointing to the hour of eleven. The acreage in berries is about the same as it was last year. Mr. Lowery and family have moved onto the Daxis flat woods farm and are going to crop there this year. Mr. G. W. Pecarce, wife and daughter, Ruby, were callers at the house on the hill on Monday. Mr. J. A. Kinsinger was out from town in his car on Wednesday looking over his plantation. Prof. J. E. Snowden, formerly supervisor of writing in the Tampa schools, is now in our midst in- structing a large class in the art of penmanship, and is realizing good results’ from his pupils.
