B. Newman, was given in marriage to Mr. James B. Price, of Kauka, at the residence of the bride's parents on East Lime street. The Newman residence was a ver- itable bower of flowers, roses, ferns and potted plants being used in pro- fusion throughout. To the strains 8f Mendelssohn’s Wedding March, Miss Mary McKay at the piano, the bride and her only attendant, Miss Georgia Fannin en- tered and were met at the impro- vised chancel by the groom and his best man, Mr. Hall Newman, broth- er of the bride, where thcy were joined in the holy bonds of wedlock lby the Rev. H. H. 'Newman, uncle {of the bride, Rev. Callahan, of the Cumberland Presbyterian church as- sisting. The impressive ring cere- ‘mony of the Presbyterian church was used. Dainty little Miss Edith Edmund- ison, of Auburndale, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer. The bride was gowned in white satin, lace draperies and carried a shower bouquet of white roses and | ferns. Immediately following the cere- mony a reception was held in the young couple’s honor, during which {a delicious ice course was served. | The bride and groom left on the 10:20 Coast Line train for peints in |the East where the honeymoon will be spent, after which they will be at home to their friends at Kauka, where the groom is a prosperous merchant. The bride has lived in Lakeland all her life, and has by her many charms and winsome ways endeared herself to a large coterie of friends, ‘Double Header to be Played Here Mon.; Lakeland vs Ft. Meade There will be a double-header played at the Athletic Field Monday afternoon between Lakeland and 'Fort Meade. The first game will be called promptly at 2 o’clock and the second at 3:30, The admission for both games will be ;0 cents and 25 cents for children under 12 vears of age. This being a legal holiday the stores will be closed during the af- ternoon and the biggest crowd of the season will be on hand to root for the locals. The Tmhoff tank of the sewage disposal plant of this city has been cleaned out for the first time since its installation. The semi-sclid res- idue in the tank, or so called “sludge,” left from the process of lhqumcmmn of the solids in the sewage, was pumped out and drained off to a sludge bed. 4- 3. The sludge from the tank is of the usual humus type and, as it dries out, comparatively noffensive and somewhat like partly rotted leaf mold. 4. The report of the sanitary de- partment, filed herewith, consists largely of an inventory of the ve- hicles and apparatus belonging to the sanitary department and the street department. The report Ishows that the city is feeding 13 head of mules and horses at present.
