Nor- ¢ll, left last night for Harlem, Ga., where he went to visit his aunt for ceveral weeks. There will be choir practice at he First Presbyterian church to- t at 7:30 o'clock. All members are requested to attend. Miss Olive Hansel, who has been in the employ of the Paul & Way- mer Lumber Co. as stenogiapher, Jeft for her home in Orlando yester- day. Mr. Lovie Ellis, who is in the fruit business here, presented the editor with a luscious basket of Georgia peaches this morn- ing which were very fine indeed and greatly enjoyed. Miss Lucile Weaver returned today to Tampa where she will again take up her duties as nurse ar the Halycon hospital, Miss| Weaver, with Mrs. C. F. O'Don- iel and family, have just return- ed from a pleasant sojourn at Pass-a-Grille, Rev. D. B. Sweat, of Manatee, is spending today in Lakeland on business, having property in- terests here which brings him back occasionally to the delight of his many Lakeland {riends. A recent trip to the beach has improved the health of himself and family considerably, Mrs. Henrietta Peterson, who has been spending the past two months very pleasantly with her daughter in New York, has returned to Lakeland to the delight of her many friends. The Lakeland Military Band will give a concert in thepark tomorrow afternoon beginning at 5;15 unless rain prevents. Prof. J. Cameron McLean has leit here for Tampa where he in- tends to reside. The Prof. is highly thought of in Lakeland and his singing was of the artis- tic order and always appreci- ated. Lakeland has indeed had a great treat in having one so <o talented in their midst. His many friends are urging him to return in the fall to give Lake- land a treat in the way of a high class recital. The church was decorated with choice palms and ferns ar- ranged mpst artisteally at the entrance to chancel, and banks of these plants formed a beauti- ful background for the wedding party. The guests were shown to | Mr. Stuart Thompson and Mr. Wm, S. Moore. Mrs. H. J. Drane presided at the organ and as the strains of the wedding march Lohengrin were heard the bridal party proceeded down the central aisle. Mr. Moore and Mr. Thomp-| son, as ushers, came first fol- lowed by Miss May White, a sister of the bride, gowmed in white voile with pink sash and| hat, which set oft the dainty blonde beauty of this attractive young lady. Next came Miss Mabel Drane, a stately beauty of the brunette type, in white net with pink sash and trim- mings. Following her came the ntaid of honor Miss Bess White, another sister of the bride, She ‘was gowned in pale green voile' with white lace trimmings, and never looked to better advan-| tage, being the dainty cpitomc' of spring. She carried an arm, boquet of maiden hair fern and| lillies of the valley. The brides- maids carried arm boquets of pink roses and ferns and allf wore lace hats with touches of pink. The bride entered the church with her father, Mr. Canvass White, and was met at the chan- cel steps by the groom and his best man Mr. Ossian Drane, who had entered from the Ves- which PHBHD try. Thomas Gave Six 0'Clock Dinner Mrs. Joe B. Thomas was the hos- | tess at an elegant six o'clock dinner last evening given in honor of ler husband, this being the occasion of his birthday. Mrs. Thomas' lovely home, “Wood- side,” south of town was prettily ar- ranged for the occasion and cordial } hospitality reigned supreme. After the dinner was enjoyed, the guests spent the remainder of the evening playing rook. Those who enjoyed Mrs. Thomas' hospitality were Mr, and Mrs. George w. Wat- son, Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Norvell and Mr. and Mrs. T. L Waring.
