McLEOD, ’June9 1914, City Manager. 2678 ———————————————————————— SASHES NOW IN GREAT FAVOR Particularly Pretty Effect ls Velvet Artistically Draped Over Linen Dress. There i8 now a pretty fashion for little children, that of wearing velvet sashes with their linen dresses. The dresses are frequently embroldered. The sashes are worn by both girls and very emall boys, but more frequently by girls. As yet these sashes have not been worn with the sheer dresses, but only upon those of heavy materials, such as linens. Small embroidered tabs are used to hold the sash in place. The tabs are placed at regular inter- vale about the dress and the velvet sash is drawn through them and fast- ened in sort of a loose knot at the left side-front. The tabs may be either stitched to the dress or separate, hav- ing a buttonhole at each end and but- toned to the dress by tiny pearl or cro- cheted buttons, the buttons being, of course, placed upon the dress. The sashes come in dark and light colors, red, black, dark blue and various other colors being used. One must be care- tul, however, not to have the child wear a hair ribbon that will clash with the sash. If the sash is black, any col- ored ribbon may be worn on the hair, but if the sash is of another color, either the sash color or black or white must be worn, if one would exhibit good taste. The sashes are from four to five inches in width. % in. Get busy ang see us. oo o B L1 SE2200 0000000000409 PP o EDWARD T. STOTESBURY i g Edward T. Stotesbury of Philadel- phia, & member of J. P.
