This is a most useful and delightful | little workbag, which would make a ., capital present. It takes next to mno | time to make. You will need 3% of a yard of silk or satin, 18 inches wide, and th 1 amount of white wash silk to line it, two yards of fine cord ! An extra serap of silk will be needed to cover this, For a really useful bag, black glaced silk and a black ribbon, adorned with vivid silk flowers, are nice. For an evening bag, white satin, with a pink ribbon. A glance at the diagram shows ex- actly how the bag is made. A head- ing and slot are made at the top of the silk, and a heading only, run with a stout double thread, and left ready to be drawn up, at the bottom. The strip ol flowered ribbon is stitched on a guarter of an inch from the edge, top and bottom, and drawn up to the width of the silk and fast- cned lightly to it. The lining is next tacked into place, and the sides of the bag are run to- gether., The covered circles of card which form the bottom of the bag are next slipstitehed into place, the silk being drawn up to fit round the edges of them, and when double drawstrings have been run through the top slot the bag is ready. The same idea can be carried out in a larger or smaller size. TAKE TIME FOR SHORT NAP Woman Will Find Her Health and Beauty Much Improved by Sensible Course. If you are easily tired and apt to grow fretful and nervous as afternoor. turns into night, did you ever stop to consider that very possibly you feel so just because you have not given yourself a minute's rest from the time you arose in the morning until you retired for the night? Many women act this way day in and year out. Yet if a well-inten- tioned friend should ¢ est a nap in the afternoon, or even a few minutes’ rest in one's ite chair, the idea 1ld b wn with the | the hie New Chiffon Bags. The newest thing in bags to carry in the afternoon and evening is made in figured chiffon over gold or silver cloth. One of especial beauty is made of chiffon with a brown background, figured with rose and yellow roses in an indistinct design. It is mounted over cloth of gold and silver stripes and has a silver clasp and chain. Another bag is made of mauve and green chiffon mounted over silver cloth. Silver cords are used for draw- strings at the top, and a silver tassel is fastened to the pointed end of the bag. Bedstead Bracket. Aside from the novelly of the blouse design sketched for today, much of its attraction can be attributed to the wide Roman-striped girdle that is crushed loosely about the waist. As the blouse is a white one, it will be best to select one of the red-and-green- striped ribbons on a cream-ground col- or, with perhaps finer stripes of green and yellow, White crepe de chine makes the pretty blouse that is devoid of all trimming save for the round silver cord lacings in sleeves and across the front. The fronts are left open at the neck, but are drawn together at the waist, and a white net yoke, made with a corded shirring and narrow heading, fills in the opening. Small, firmly buttonholed eyelets are worked on either side of the blouse opening through which to run the lacing., It is knotted just above the girdle with ‘vonsdt Delivery Phone 23?% oo BB B B BBy BB s 858 e ool Bl B o BB B B B o i B B b Water Wells, Irrigationand Drainage Plants PUMPS AND ENGINES PP Q0P We have 15 years' Call on us.
