McKay: Dear Sir— In reply to yours of the fifteenth ult., extending an invitation to our town to participate in the Gasparilla car- nival to be held in your city in Feb- ruary, I wish to say that it will be our pleasure to accept the invitation, and, as I expect to have our fire de- partment and our city band take part also, I will confer with you in per- son in the near future and make the necessary arrangements. “I shall be very glad to assist in any way possible to make this a crowning event in the history of south Florida. “Yours very truly, “0. M. Eaton.” The example that is being set by the hustling mayor of the Polk coun- ty city, should be followed by the mayor of every city in south Florida. The Gasparilla carnival is going to do the whole southern part of the State an untold amount of good, and every person who has the interests of Sunny Florida in their hearts should do what they can to make this the greatest celebration that has ever been held in Florida. !
