It is a duty we owe to oth- ers as well as to ourselves to make the most of whatever natural beauties we have. Garden work is hard on one's apnearance, but there are many | little ways in which to counteract its i (effécts and the results are surely worth the trouble. i . Such a simple thing as washing the face carefully every night before go- ing to bed will work wonders with the complexion. A good scrub with warm water and some soap really rests one, and if tried every night will smooth and clear the complexion surprisingly. i Use a rather stiff nail brush to wash and clean the nails. It consists of three little satin bags, lined with soft white silk and tied up at the neck with narrow ribbon. The bags are three inches in length by two inches in width, and to the back of each bag is attached two pieces of narrow ribbon. These ribbons are fastened together at the top and ar i ranged in a bunch of tiny loops. This sachet might, of course, be car- | g ried out in other colors than those suggested, and it would look well made in almost any two pale shades of color such as pale pink and apple green, or pale pink and yellow, or it | might be made entirely in white. It can be suspended from a peg in a wardrobe, so that it will hang inside the garment that may be placed upon the peg, and it can be filled with lav- ender or the little bags may contain cotton wool plentifully sprinkled with some sweet smelling sachet powder. And possibly flowers might be worked upon the bags, indicating the scent which they contain.
