The waist line is not defined either in the blouse and skirt or in the coat. The blouse deserves its name as it hangs over the top of the skirt and the ef- fect is apparently to make the waist large rather than small. Other models in these coats are longer in front and gathered in to a loose belt or band, placed at the nor- mal waist line or a little below fit. The collar stands away from the back of the neck and the curve from the neck to shoulder blades is very slight. There is no curve from that point to the bottom. But the straight-back is not for everyone and there are plenty of oth- er models to choose from. All the new designs may be said to hang on the figure rather than to fit it.
