W. Dudley. died at the family home, Tennessee and Orange street, at 6:10 last evening, after an illness of only a few days. Not alone her family and imme- diate circle of friends, but the en- tire community Is inexpressibly shocked at the sudden passing away of this sweet child, who was loved by all who knew her, and Wwhose gen- tle, amiable and loveable ways had endeared her even to those who had only a hailing acquaintance with her, but whose hearts warmed to her because of the sunshine she seemed to shed around her. Everything that love and scientific gkill could do was resorted to in the effort to save this precious life; but there are times .when human knowl- edge and human efforts are as paught—the times when the wisdom that passeth understanding has de- cided that Heaven needs the radi. ance of a flower too fair and delicate to bloom in the care-laden airs of earth. The funeral took place this morn- ing and the remains were laid to rest in Lakeland cemetery. The community mourns with the heart- broken family, and prays that after time has dulled the keen edge of their suffering, they may be led to the realization that “Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal.” oimy Mrs. J. C. Owens nas returned after a vsit of a week or two with friends at Umatilla. There will be a change of sched- ule effective next Sunday in the time of train 83, running between this city and Fort Myers. This train which now leaves here at 8:25 will leave on Sunday morning and there- after at 7:35, or fifty minutes earlier. Train No. 89, which has been leaving here for Fort Myers and way points at 5:56 in the even- ing, will leave five minutes earlier —at 5:50. The change of leaving time in the morning is considerable, and it behooves passengers for Bar- tow and other points on the C. H. to take note of this matter that they may not get left. NOTICE TO GROCERS, FRUIT AND MEAT DEALERS My attention has been called to the fact that the portion of Ordi- nance No. 145, which provides that “all fruit stands and butcher shops and grocery stores shall ptotect fruit and food offered for' sale by wire screens, covers or netting, so placed that flles cannot crawl over fruit or food,” is not being observad by some persons. The provisions of this ordinance must be strictly complied with, and due notice is heraby given that, aft- er one week from the date, any vio- lation of the section refarred to will be promptly dealt with. 0.
