MRS: H. B. MORSE, Press Superintendent. L L] . Hethodist Parsonage Fund, Relative to the Methodist parson- age fund, Rev. L. C. Jenkins has the following in this week's issue of the Florida Clyristian Advocate: “Our parsonage nears completion. The contractor says that we may n:ove into it in a week or ten days. When it is all done I want to give You a cut of it, even at the risk of having all the brethren break the tenth commandment,. “But I want to tell you about our Plan of raising some money for it. In a case in the reception bpll we will have a small morocco bound book, and that will contain the names of all who contribute to the amount of one penny, no amounts being put down. This will be kept as & permanent record. “The responses are to be in by uext Sunday, and they have been coming in for a little over a week. ‘Already about two hundred and fifty kave contributed, amounts ranging from one penny to $150. We anti- cipate that many more will help be- fore the week is out. Many are wait- ing till the last moment, possibly scme have looked upon the plam as too small a thing for them to fool With, and it may be that there are a few who are contrary about the Tatter, but you know we Mave about as few contrary people im Lakeland as anywhere in the wowld. Contrari- ness does not thrive iw our soil. We have nearly the amaunt we set out to, raise, and it has been done with the greatest ease, “It there are any people out over the State who do not kpow how to progress, please tell them to come and spend a while in Lakeland, catch our spirit and learn the art, “God give us more and more ye- ligion."” ——— Japanese Tag. Observing a bunch of children going through all sorts of comical stunts, I asked what the game might be and was told it was Japanese tag. Now t Wo are outdoors again for our play times, try it. The child who is tagged must place his or her left hand on the spot touched and keep it there until he is fortunate enough to tag someone else. Then the one who is “it” tries to tag someone on the knee or foot, o that his endeavors to tag the next one with the hand on that part of the body will be most difficult as well as very amusing, An After-Dinner Trick.
