A bran mash, which means any welfbal- anced mixture of ground grains, With ten per cent commercial meat scrap and a little sharp grit, makes a4 good ration for laying ducks. Half as much chopped vegetable tops should be added, unless the ducks have good pasture range. They should have plenty of fresh water fer drinking, in tubs or pails deep enough to cover their eyves while drinking. With this feed and a dry place to sleep in, there will be no iack of egas. As to the marketing of duck eggs, there need Le no difliculty. The eggs from Indian Runner ducks are equal- Iy as good as hen egzs. Many bak- ers prefer duck eggs to hen eggs, as they are richer and make better cakes. Grocery stores handle them without any obection, and private ymers buy them because they are larger and go further in cooking. During the fall, while hens were on a strike and the price of exgs was soaring, my flock of one hundred ducks, hatched the previous spring, was filling a goed-sized market bas- ket every day. In December, which is the off month with ducks, the number came down considerably, nhut by the first of January they were at it in earnest again. When ~ggs are 45 cents and 50 cents per crei, & big basket of eggs every morning looks %ood to the farmer who {8 wise enough to rais Indian Runner ducks. Even now that they have dropped to 30 cents per dozen, seven or eight dozen a day, the usual number, are very welcome. If you are still skeptical ahout the matter, just try a few settings this spring and be convinced. HIS TROUBLE NOT OF HEART Real Facts In Regard To F.
