J Watkins for the loss of the sm.hl of one of her eyes. According to the narrative of the plaintiff, the injury to her eye was caused about a year ago while re- bairs were being made in the build- ing belonging to defendant. It seems that at that time some for- eign substance entered Miss Leake's eye, causing irritation, which, in spite of careful attention, becamec worse and worse, fiually resulting in the total loss of the sight in one eye. The merits of the case will now be decided in court. The case will ex- cite considerable interest in this community, both parties to the suit being well known.-Orlando Seni- nel, ' [ AT D ST " IRE CAPTURED - Severe Blow to Rcvolutionists To~: day. The dog, evi- dently realizing her plight, hastened to the back yard, where the servant was engaged at work, and acted in such a manner as to attract the at- tention of the servant, who rushed into the house and found Mrs. Jones helplessly lying in the fire. She quickly was removed, but was badly burned. It is supposed the woman fainteq and fell unconscious into the fireplace. The bulldog has a ‘“‘happy home for life” in the Jones family.
