Mrs. Logan - has been up some time, and was joined about three weeks ago by Mr. Logan. Mrs. E. 0. Flood and children re- turned last night from Brevard, N. C., where they have been spending a pleasant summer. Mr. Flood did not return, but will be home in a few days. He is now at Hendersonville. Prof. and Mrs. \W. N. Sheats arc spending today in Lakeland with friends, having come up to attend the Woodmen's picnic. As usual, beth are being accorded a cordial welcome. e —— Rev. J. R. Cason and Prof. T. J. McBeath, the former of Bartow and the latter of Fort Meade, are spend- ing today in Lakeland, having been invited up to deliver addresses at the Woodmen's celebration, Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Bradley and son, Ballard, returned this morning from a pleasant stay in the moun- tains of North Carolina. Miss Laura Southard, who went up with Mrs. Bradley two months ago, will re- nain in the mountains a month longer. WOODMEN ARE HAVING BIG DAY The Woodmen of the World and the Woodmen Cirele are having a big tim: today on the sliore of Lake Morton, where they southwest rare holding their annual picnic. ORDINANCE NUMBER 143, An ordinance to be entitled “An ordinance to create a City Board of Health” and to prescribe the pow- ers, duties and compensation of the said Board of Health, Be it ordained by the Council of |+ the City of Lakeland, Florida: Section 1. That a City Board of Health for the City of Lakeland is hereby created to consist of three practicing physicians of said city who shall be elected annually by the City Council and vacancies in said board if any should occur shall be filled by the said City Council. Section 2. The said board shall have supervision to all matters per- taining to the public health in the city.
