For those with eyes to see and ears to hear there is presented today perhaps plainer than ever before in the history ot the country the meth- ods by which Wa!ll street controls our government. In President Taft and certain of his nomination they have what they want in the Republican party, a candidate who is friendly to their interests. But in the Demo- cratic party they are not so safe. Woodrow Wilson is the man <1 all others they do not want and with the people he is the most popular candidate before the country, Any- thing to defeat Wilson is the cry of Wall street. In Florida they will rin Underwood against him, hoping It in all Florida there is a man better [that Underwood being a citizen of u fitted to protect the moral interests|neighboring State, will poll enough ume of work as well as the responsi- bility, and will necessarily require a.t able, experienced anc skilled jaw- yer, that the State may Le represen:- co hy as good talert a: the derend- ants will have. I am fitted to discharge the duties of this important office and of the one yet to be created. If elected 1 shall de- vote my entire time to the office and always be found in my office attend- ing to its duties. 1 will protect the interests of institutions in each sec- tion of the county alike. This paper has for years advocated, in season and out, the abolition of the convict lease system and the em- ployment of the convicts in the con- struction of goods roads. This plaa i3 practical; it is in operation in other States, and has been proven a success; it does not conflict with fre» labor; it will build up all sections of the State; it provides healthfui outdoor employment for the convicts; it will result in sure, lasting and substantial benefits to all the people of the State. Park Trammel advo- cates the plan, and the people of the State will stamp their unqualiflnd' approval of it on the 30th of this menth by rolling up a magnificent majority for Park Trammell for gOv- ernor. This paper docs not preach sec- tionalism, but, other things being vqual, it feels that the man nearest aome is entitled to preference.
