THE HYPNOTIST WAS GREAT AT HERRON THEATER Prof. Hemstreet, who opened a two nights' engagement at the Her- ron theater last night, was all he advertised to be, and more. The professor’ opened his entertainment with a short lecture on mental telep- athy and then gave a demonstration that was marvelous, and must be seen to be appreciated. His talk on hypnotism was very interesting, he claiming that hypno- tism is not the power of one person’s mind over another, but rather one's own mind over his own body, or mind over matter, After coaxing a short time he suc- ceeded in gettjng several well known young men upon the stage, and the things he made them do while they were under his influence was funny in the extreme. No one doubted but what he had them thoroughly hypno- tized. This entertainment is out of the ordinary run of shows, and if our people could understand what it amounts to, the theater would not hold the crowds. Prof. Hemstreet closes his engage- ment here tonight, and the worthy performance he gave last night will advertise him today and, no doubt, he will have a full house, as he justly should.
