And you are—for lLakeland. But whep you compare what vou pay with the fortunes oth- ers are spending, you may reach the conclugion that you are not overdo- ing things. Mr. Massengale gave the members of the Board of Trade an inkling of advertising values in his talk to thcm the other day. He proposed to spend $4,000 of a $5,000 advertising fund to be raiseqd by this city, in the Saturday Evening Post. His plan was to have an advertise- ment of Lakeland inserted four tirnes in the Pos., the advertisement to be five inches down two columns, say about the size cf the Henley & Henley advertisement in this paper, These advertisements were to cost about $1,000 each. In other words, he would undertake to get space in the Post cquivalent to two columns or this paper, one insertion, for §$4,- 000, Not only ave such rates charg- cd by the Post, but it has practicaliy all the business its columns can car-| ry at these prices. Big business men recognize the value of publicity. Lit- tie business men do not. That's the reason they are little business men, and will always remain so. NEED MORE FARMERS.
