B mm——e— ATl S T THE EVENING TELEGRAM: LAK ELAND, FLORIDA, AUBURNDALE NOTES. A most unique and novel busi- ness has been inaugurated by R. O. Dunning of Auburndale. There are mail order businesses galore in op- eration all over America, but it has been left for Mr, Dunning to take advantage of the system and from it develop a special line. He is| making a specialty of mail order packages of Florida fruits. The fruit is all selected with special care and unusual precautions are taken in their destination in the most per- fect condition. He prepays all ex- press charges on the goods and esti- mates that he is at the present time one of the best patrons of the ex- press companies at this point. The first shipment of the present season was made this week and as the fruit is of exceptional quality, he anticipates that he will have about all that he can handle as the season advances. Mr. Dunning is one of that type of men who be- lieve in doing all that they do to the best of their ability, and at- tributes his success in this novel business to being able first of all to secure the quality of fruit that the highland lake country produces, and then to taking care of his customers in a manner that is satisfactory to them in every sense. TEACHING THE YOUNG | IDEA HOW TO SPELL. i Spelling and its proper teaching was the subject that occupied the attention of the Lakeland District Teachers' Association at the regu- lar monthly meeting held in Lake- land last week, the object of the discussion being to secure a uniform method of teaching spelling with the most lasting results to the pupil. The value of psychology gained from practical experience was touched upon by Prof. Jones, who of each pupil, his tastes, habits, character, and of teaching with re- gard to the individual pupil rather | than as a class.
