Pool, Ping Pong Tourneys Resume At USO-YMCA The weekly ping pong and pool tournaments have been resumed at the USO-YMCA on Whitehead Street. During the tournaments last year some “hot” matches de- veloped and it is expected that servicemen will again enjoy this popular activity at the USO on Tuesday nights. The musie for the dance on the patio tomorrow night will be fur- nished by the Debonaires, a popu- lar. combo. Refreshments are to. be ‘served and the novelty dances have provén a good way to get! new ‘comers acquainted with the USO hostess and with other guests at the dance. Coffee and doughnuts are serv- ed family style every Sunday mor- ning ‘from 9:30 to 10:30 by GSO hostesses. This Sunday Miss Fran Johnson and Miss Charlene Smith will serve. Virginia Bazo Wed To Alfonso Vega | At El Salvador Methodist Church El Salvador Methodist Church was the setting for the wedding of Miss Virginia Bazo and Alfonso Vega at eight o’clock in the eve~ ning on Tuesday, August 21. The bride who attended Key West The bride is the daughter of M r. and Mrs. Delio Bazo, 311 Tru-| High School, traveled in a full man Avenue. The groom’s parent side at 517 William Street. The single ring service was per- formed by the Reverend Manuel Figueroa, pastor of El Salvador Church. Miss Nathalie Gutierez, pianist, played the traditional wedding march as the bride entered the church on the arm of her father who gave her in marriage. She chose for her wedding an ex- quisite gown of white lace and net over satin. The fitted bodice with small stand-up collar was fashion- ed of lace and buttoned to the waist with tiny satin covered but- tons. The long sleeves ended in points over her hands. Layers of net formed the long bouffant skirt. _ Her three-quarter length veil of illusion was held in place by a coronet of starched lace, and she carried a white prayer book cen- tered with a white orchid with white ribbon streamers showered with stephanotis. The groom’s sister, Mrs. Marina Corales. of Cuba was matron of honor and was gowned in a semi- formal dress fashioned of pink net and lace, Miss Lydia Mejia, a sister of the gfoom, and his cousin, Miss Josefa Diaz, both of Cuba, were maid of iid and bridesmaid, respective- They wore semi-formal gowns fashioned of net. Miss Mejia’s ou was pink and Miss Diaz wore jue. The bride’s cousin, Gilbert Ad- ams, served the groom as best, man and the ushers were Henry Bazo, brother. of the bride, and Os- car Molina.
