The Reverend John S. Armfield read the single ring service. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry A. Gardner, of 1206 Watson Street, and the groom is the son of Mrs. Thelma Schuck, 513 William Street and William Cates, 800 Caroline Street. She carried a white prayer book topped with white carnations, centered with an orchid. Miss Mary Lou Gardner, was her sister’s maid of honor. Her gown was blue nylon net over taf- feta and she carried a bouquet of pink carnations. A head piece of net and flowers completed her costume. The bridesmaids, Rose Baker, Barbara Hunter and Geraldine In- graham wore pastel gowns with matching head pieces. Miss Bak- er’s dress was orchid and she car- ried pink carnations. Miss Hunter wore blue and her bouquet was yellow carnations. Miss Ingraham also carried yellow carnations and | her gown was aqua. The flower girl, little Katy Lou | Arnold, wore a blue net gown | over taffeta with matching head-| piece. Ralph Arnold, Jr. was the} ring bearer. Overton Ingraham was the best }man and Kenneth Keir, Frank Hernandez and Carlton Pinder | ushered. | The bride’s mother chose a blue lace dress worn with white acces- | sories, and the groom’s mother a printed dress and white acces- sories. They both had corsages of white carnations. Following the church ceremony, more than two hundred guests at- tended the reception at the home of the bride’s parents. The bride’s table was covered with a lace j cloth, and her tiered wedding | cake was topped with minature figures of a bride and groom. | Mrs. Gloriana Bayly, aunt of the bride and Mrs. Kenneth Arch- er assisted with the serving. During the past two weeks the children have been _ siudying “God’s Wonders,” and they have expressed those wonders in song and in the projects outlined by the church. Mrs. Emory Harris, assisted by Mrs. Curry Harris, has worked hard to direct this course and the faithful attend- ance of the children is evidence that she has succeeded. The work of the children will be on exhibit this evening and their program will express the success of the school. One of the outstanding accom- plishments will be given by little Nan Anderson, back here on a visit, when she recites the books of the Old Testament. Following this recitation will be a song by the Juniors, putting the books in music. The program is as follows: Salute to the American Flag, followed by the singing “America.” Honors to the Christian Flag, followed by the singing of “On- ward Christian Soldiers.” Honors to the Bible, followed by a song, “The Bible.” A Bible reading will be given by Emily Harris. Prayer, followed by the Lord’s Prayer. The children will sing “The Creation,” “B-I-B-L-E” and “Fish- ers of Men.” Memory verses by the Begin- ners Class. A song, “Sailing,” by the Primary Department. “Books of the Old Testament,” by Nan Anderson.
