They make three jaunts a year. This is their first trip to Key West and Havana In July they will fly to Nova Scotia and. in October to Mobile, Ala. Return Next Week They will return to Key West next Saturday after a week in Ha- vana and Veradero Beach, Yesterday the group assembled at the Key Wester Hotel for a cock- tail party. Later they had dinner at Raul’s Restaurant. The planes began taking to the air at 10:15 a. m. today, under the watchful eyes of the Coast Guard and the Civil Aeronautics Authority, A Coast Guard liaison officer at Meacham Field briefed the pilots spotted along the route from here to Havana. Cleared By CAA The CAA had set up a mobile flight plan station to clear the planes for Havana. A Coast Guard communications truck was at the field, also. Besides the communications set up and the vessels posted at sea, @ Coast Guard plane escorted the Planes to Havana. An 83-foot Coast Guard vessel Was spotted 22 miles south-south. west of Key West and the cutter Ariadne 66 miles away.
