Phe first one was held April 12, 13, and 14 back in 1934. . The idea behind that first flower show was to awaken an inter- est in beauty and to spark a campaign, sponsored by the Civic Com- mittee of the Key West Woman's Club, to make Key West the most beautiful and attractive city in the United States.
