Roberts, 204 Simonton Street, charg- ed that police entered his home unlawfully and then beat him and mishandled his wife, inflicting a four inch gash in his skull. He further charged; that they kept him in a cell at the city jail for some time after his arrest and ignored his pleas for medical atten- tion. According to a police report dat- ed January 20, Patrolman Her- man Conley was dispatched at 9:30 p. m. to Roberts’ home to! investigate a disturbance.
