SOCIETY — PERSONALS — NEWS OF INTEREST TO WOMEN ITEMS OF INTEREST TO EVERYONE DOROTHY RAy’ Kindergarten Has | Special Program Graduation Day ] A delighted audience of parents, Yelatives an friends enjoyed the | Jack and Jill Joyland kindergarten | Graduation exercises which were | eld at the Truman Elementary | School auditorium at ten o'clock on Saturday morning, June 6. The graduates sang several songs together including ‘“‘Good Morning To You,” “Take Me Out To The Ballgame,” and “Let’s All Sing Like The Birdies.” Fingerplays, poems and songs were given by individual pupils. ' Diplomas were given out by the | @irector, Bernard Frank who expressed the staff's pleasure and | Satisfaction in working with the children and wished them much guccess and happiness in their fu- ture school careers. The pre - kindergarten pupils gang and performed “All Around the Mulberry Bush.” Mrs. Frank states that the pro- gtam was planned to give the Youngsters a happy introduction to| performing before an audience so fas to develop self - assurance and ise. Graduates were: Anita Rosen- feld, David Moore, Linda Crowell, Gayle Wheeler, Robert Clark Jam- es Patrick Thomas, Ronnie Milot, Nancy Ann Gregory, Lenora Neg- fin, Harriet Barbara Frank, Stev- en Bradley White, Robert Fores- man, John Goodwin, Luella Wel- born, David Buell and Pat McClo- skey. The school will remain open dur- ing June, July and August for a summer session featuring the usu- al complete kindergarten and nur-| sery school program. Jose M. Padron, Jr., who ex- changed vows with a double ring ceremony. The Rev. Paul Touchton conducted thé impressive rites which began at 6 p.m. Organ music was played by Millicent Taylor. On stage they weren’t bad, except that again they lacked the orginality to put on an act of their own and did direct steals from Martin and Le- wis. In fact, at the surprise end- ing of the picture they go into that bit and are much more at home. There are some very funny se- quences in this opus: the one | where a real gorilla comes in the {window while the false gorilla | (Mitchell) goes out the door and | Sammy Petrillo slaps the beast’s ‘You Truly,” and “O Promise Me.” The bride was escorted to the altar by her father, Fred J. Weech She wore a formal gown of lace over white satin. The bodice was of lace and had long lace sleeves which came to a point over the hand. Her skirt was bouffant and long. Her illusion veil was attach- ed to a small bridal cap and she carried a bouquet of lilies of the valley centering a white orchid. Mrs. Ralph Bancells, matron of honor and sister of the groom, wore blue net over taffeta and carried a nosegay of pink carnations. Nieces of the groom, Miss Sylvia Fernandez and Miss Anita Esperdy were bridesmaids. Miss Fernandez wore a gown of white net over yel- low taffeta. Her flowers were im- ported green carnations. Miss Es- perdy wore a gown of green net over pink taffeta and carried yel- low carnations. The bride’s mother, Mrs. Fred J. Weech chose as her attire a formal blue lace. Her flowers were pink carnations. The groom’s mother, Mrs. Jose M. Padron, Sr., wore a creation of blue silk and carried pink car- nations. A brother of the groom, Law- rence Padron was best man. The groomsmen were Nesto Alverez and Jose Fernandez, who also serv- ed as ushers, The bride’s sister, Miss Judy Weech wore a charming green taf- feta frock as flower girl. The ring bearer, Master Ralph Bancella, Jr., carried the double rings on a white satin cushion. . Following the ceremony, a re- ception was held at the home of the groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jose Padron, Sr. Over 400 guests attended filling the house, the yard and the nearby street.
