56—Legal Notices ORDINANCE NO. 396, COMMISSION SERIES AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 11 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF KEY WEST, FLORIDA, 1952, BY ADDING NEW SECTIONS THEREUN- DER, TO BE KNOWN AS SEC- TIONS 11.43. TO 11.54, INCLU- SIVE, PROVIDING A REFRIG- ERATION AND AIR-CONDI- TIONING CODE, AND PROVID- ING WHEN ORDINANCE GOES INTO EFFECT. Be it enacted by the City Com-| mission of the City of Key West, Florida: SECTION 1. That Chapter 11 of the Code of The City of Key West, Florida, 1952, be, and the} same is hereby, amended by add- ; ing the following .new sections} thereunder, to read as follows: | SECTION 11.43. REFRIGER { ATION AND AIR CONDITION- ING CODE DEFINITIONS. The term “Master Installer,” as used {| in this chapter, shall be held to mean a person who is engaged ma trade or business as a bona fide dealer and agent of refrig- eration. and air conditioning ap- pliances, and who has an estab- Jished place “of business in a properly zoned area. The term “Refrigeration or air cénditioning journeyman,” ‘ as used in this chapter, shall be he} to mean a person who possesse the necessary - qualifications, training and technical knowledge to install and repair refrigeration ‘and air conditioning units. SECTION 11.44. BOARD OF EXAMINERS—CREATED; COM- PENSATION; . APPOINTMENT AND QUALIFICATIONS OF MEMBFRS. There shall be a board of refrigeration and air con- ditioning examiners, consisting of 5 members, two of whom shall be. Master Installers now engaged in an established business in the City, and the three remaining members shall be refrigeration or air conditioning Journeymen. The City Electrical Inspector all be an ex-officio member of the board. SECTION 1145. SAME— TERM. ‘The appointed members of the board of refrigeration and air conditioning examiners shall he annointed for a'term of one veor from the first day of May in the vear of appointment, and an- thereafter, before the first day of May of each year for terms ef ene year or until such time as tho’ e1teressors are appointed. SAME— RE - EXAMINATION UPON $25.00 LAPSE OF CERTIFICATE, | Should the holder of a certificate of competency allow: his, certif- ieate to lapse and become in- valid, then he shall make appli- cation to the board of-refrigera- tion and air conditioning exam- iners and be re-examined before such certificate may be issued to to engage in the business of mas- fer installer or refrigeration or eir conditioning journeyman un- til such certificate has been is- ued to him, SECTION 11.53. SAME— REVOCATION OF CERTIFIC- ATE OF COMPETENCY. A cer- tificate of competency granted to any master installer or refriger- ation or air conditioning journey- man under the provisions of this chapter may be revoked by the board of refrigeration and air conditioning examiners should the holder of such certificate be found guilty of persistently or wilfully violating any of the pro- visions of this chapter. Any cer- tificate so revoked shall not be renewed for a period of 30 days after the revocation or for a fur- ther period as may be determined | by a majority of the board of ex- aminers, SECTION 11.54 FEES FOR PERMITS—GENERALLY. Per- mits shall not be issued by the | building inspector until after the following fees shall have been paid: MOTORS Up to “% Ap each unit $1.00 “% hp'to 2hp $2.00 2 hp to Shp $3.00 5 hp to 10 hp $4.00 Over 10 hp $7.50 No permits will be required for the installation or connection of do- mestic refrigerators or air condi- tioners if they are self contained units containing no valves with j motors less than 1/3 hp. The above permits shall not be Sranted until building permits are issued in connection with the pro- posed installation of the refrigera- ch building permits shall be $5.00 for the first $1,000 cost of installation and $1.00 for each addi tional $1,000 cost of such instaila- tion.
