Sawyer, age 83, died at the Municipal Hospital on Saturday, March 7, 1953, at 9:45 p.m, A native of the Bahama Is- lands, Mr. Sawyer came to this country fifty-three years ago where he met and married Miss Georgiana Saunders, his widow. They were the parents of twelve children, nine of whom survive. They are Mrs. Emma Brice, Key West; Mrs. Sarah Sands and Mrs. Florence Austin, New York City; Rudolph, Samuel, Charles, Julius, Key West and George and Alfred of New York City; 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grand- children, and a nost of other re- latives and friends also survive. . Sawyer, who was employed by the city of Key West for thirty years retired with a pension in 1945, He was « member of the fol- lowing lodges.
