(j.g.) Bernard Parke Williams when they exchanged nuptial vows on Saturday, January 17 at 4 o'clock in the afternoon. The Rev. Father Remias performed the double ring ceremony. The radiant bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest J. McCor- mick of West Brighton, Staten Is- Jand, New York, was given in marriage by her father. She wore a lovely gown created of white nylon tulle over satin. Alencon lace highlighted the neckline and formed the cap sleeve. The bodice was fitted and featured a scoop V neckline. The bouffant skirt was made of layers of tulle over the satin waltz-length skirt. The bridal veil was of pure silk Maid’s Night Out By RAYMER “My Wife's Best Friend” at San Carlos Theatre. Her co-star is rugged MacDonald Carey who certainly isn’t the handsome matinee idol type. . .but that’s all for the best. He has to depend on his acting prowess instead of a French illusion, shoulder length | profil and held by a nylon draped clip with seed pearl trim. The bride also wore elbow gauntlets of nylon tulle and carried an exotic bou- quet of white orchids. She wore a single stand pearl necklace. The groom, who is attached to the Submarine USS Cero based here, is from Culpepper, Va. Groomsmen and ushers wore tra- ditional navy dress whites and formed a military arch of crossed swords as the couple emerged from the chapel. He is a graduate of the U. S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Md. The bride was attended by Miss Eleanor Carlsen as maid of honor and two bridesmaids, Miss Cather- ine Williams, sister to the groom and Mrs. Peggy Packard. The story is about a married wo- man who suddenly discovers that there was a time. . .all of three years previous. . .when her hus- brand had a mild flirtation with her best friend. He tells all at the time of a crisis and lives. . .to re- gret it. . .the telling, that is. The wife doesn’t let him forget that he once stepped over the line from the dull and narrow path. Her action is more that of a juvenile delinquent as far as emotions go. . . and they go pretty far. . .almost to the breaking point. Funny shots include the wife’s imagination taking hold with a wrestler’s grip. In attempting to settle the domestic fuss, the wife’s father, played by fat pixie Cecil Kelloway, suggests that she be noble and forgiving. At once, in her mind, alleged, she sees her- self as a marftyr, as Joan of Arc, while she forgives Carey who looks hilarious in an English medi- eval wig. So for a while, she is the sweet, sugary spouse. Then another idea implanted in her brain, turns her into a slave who toils. She doesn’t spin because she doesn’t have time for that. . .but her role of being the harried little woman, slave to her husband’s whims, al- most costs him a big business deal. Before she is through as wife turned actress, she makes one more chameleon change ahd be- comes the heartbreaker, the femme fatale. Except that the plan backfires. . .and hubby leaves. Preview Of Big Navy Carnival Given ‘At Fleet Training Group’s Party Choice of the Navy Carnival Queen is going to be more diffi- cult this year with campaigns to select the winner already under- way. On Friday afternoon, a preview of the Carnival, which opens the middle of next month, was held at the Naval Station Patio by the Fleet Training Group. The preliminary look included games, concession booths and three prospective queens. The candidates each had a plat- form and a lot of cohorts who not only extolled the charms of their choices verbally but circulated through the crowd with all the verbs of Fuller Brush men, or help- ers with a medicine show, getting customers to back the product. The products were all-American beauty types in fetching bathing suits which fetched coins for to- be-queen’s coffers. Candidates in- cluded Carmen Pierce, Barbara Vincent and Marilyn Estelle. The girsl were there in person and each time a sum to swell the votes for the final big contest in February was dropped in a jar, a cheer went up, and there was a wild scurry to get more votes for another of the trio of queens. Candidate Carmen Pierce in a black swimsuit with lace inserts was at the first booth. Votes CASA CAYO HUESO © PRESENTING NIGHTLY THE “TONETTES” DINNERS ‘TILL MIDNIGHT ...
