By THELMA PARKHURST Friday was the first day of our American Legion Auxiliary Rum- mage sale, and we were rained out. We started out fine Friday morning, Kay Spence, Francis Coons, Helen Williams, Ella Gra- ham, and I with high hopes, and everything was going along well, until about 11 o’clock — then the rains came. We finally had to close shop for the day. Thursday just as I parked my car in front of the fruit stand op- posite the Flamingo, I heard a terrific crash. Kay Spence and Francis Coons were in the car with me delivering things to be sold at the Rummage Sale. A car had run smack into the in front of the L and L Drive In lunch stand. We three went run- ning over to the car, and found a local man, Bob Wood, behind the | wheel.
