Mits- chke, ‘USNR, recently reported ‘ |aboard Airship Development Squad- ron 11, Lt. Mitschke, a native of North Hollywood, Calif., was re- called to active duty Oct. 15, 1952. He first entered the Navy’ Oct. 5, 1942 and attended Del Monte Pre-Flight. in March 1944, Mits- chke was commissioned Ensign and designated Naval Aviator (Airship). He served in Airship Patrol Squadron 951 and at Ver- nam Field, Jamaica, Naval Air Station, Richmond, Fla., and Lake- hurst, N. J. Lt. Mitschke was re- leAsed to inactive duty in March 1946. After being released from the Navy, Lt. Mitschke was employed. -|as a Set Designer for Universal, Republic and Warner Brothers Motion Picture Studios. While in Key West, Lt. Mitschke will reside with his wife, the for- mer Marilyn A. White of Holly- wood, and their two sons, Roger and Douglas, at 1916 Roosevelt Drive. Jackson, 1212 Pearl Street, is completing his AF basic airmen indoctrination course at Lackland Air Force Base, the “Gateway to the, Air Force.” Lackland, situated near San An tonio, is the world’s largest air force base, site of Air Force basic training, for’ men and .women, headquarters of the Human Re- source Research Center and home of AF's Officer Candidate School. His basic training is preparing him for entrance into Air Force technical training and for assign- ment in specialized work. The course includes a scientific evalua- tion of his aptitude and inclina tion for following a particular vo cation and career. There are some 3,000 species of rodent.
