J. Paul Touchton will offi- ciate at the services. Burial will be in family plot, city cemetery. Lo- pez Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Survivors: wife, Mrs. Charles T. Religious buildings and theatres with appropriate parking space — one car space for each 200’ of floor space in the case of religious buildings and an automobile space for each five seats in a theatre. Although these are some of the permissible types of construction, it should be specifically understood that any builder, regardless of what he is erecting, must first elear his plans through appropriate authorities, City Manager Dave King points out. In every case, off street parking fg required as well as a minimum “autre of parking space per sq. Constructive Meeting Last night’s meeting was one of the most constructive gatherings of its type to take place in a long time, Claude Gandolfo and How- ard Wilson were present to ex- plain to City Planners what they had in mind for the bay bottom land development along the boule- vard, They first plan to build a large drive-in restaurant at the Sigsbee intersection corner. Both men expressed a desire to work in harmony with City Com- missioners’ plans for the future their plans was pased on the fact of Key West. Principle objection to that the marine view would be blocked from the public. Both May- or C. B. Harvey and Jack Del- any emphatically stated their objections on this score. Wilson and Gandolfo offered to compromise the situation by con- ceding a 60’ right-of-way around the water’s edge of their property. An important feature of this con- cession is that. the two property owners are automatically foregoing any future right to fill in more bay bottom lands in this area. When such lands are put up for sale, owner of the ‘“up-land” property has the right to buy in preference to all others. Thus, if‘the City of Key West owns a road around the Gandolfo and Wilson holdings, it can effectively block off future fills | by buying the pottom lands itself. Sirugo Plans Approval of the proposed ordi- nance means that Sirugo will erect a Gulf Service Station at the corner of ist. St. and Roosevelt Blvd. Delaney appeared to contradict himself by voting against the pro- posed ordinance for Sirugo and voting for it in the area o by Gandolfo and Wilson. Insofar | as the erection of a service station | is concerned, any person owning | property in these areas may put | one up providing he first gets the | approval of city officials. Delaney’s contradictory vote was apparently based on the fact that such ap- proval was automatically granted to Sirugo, contingent on the adop- tion of the ordinance, whereas Gandolfo and Wilson must still approach the Planning Board for permission should they ever desire to build such a service station. Rest Beach | Kiwanis Club, requested the City to consider buying Rest Beach for a recreational area. Owners have previously turned down an offer @f $80,000 from the City for this Property. It is thought that by of- fering a higher price, the City might now be able to get the Leon Albury, Key West; two grand-; children, Randy Albury and Judy bury. Albury was a veteran of World War I, and will be buried with full. military honors. EIGHT MEN FINED (Continued From Page One) hitting the car of Deputy Sheriff Serge Hernandez will be sen- tenced or fined next week. He has already paid $59.88 damages to Hernandez. The case went through JP court, costs of which will be added on to whatever fine is required by statute, Judge Caro said. THEODORE ALBURY, (Continued From Page One) “blacked out.” Mopping up details took another thirty minutes, Cooperation of service personnel who removed household belongings: and assisted firefighters was de- serving of high praise. A tragic aftermath to the fire came when Theodore Albury, volunteer fireman, died of a heart attack brought on by the strenuous duty of manning a line from the No. 1 machine. As one bystander quoted: ‘“‘Great- er love hath no man than he who ag down his life for his neigh- rn” Albury was 53 years old. His health had not been too good for some time but he pitched in and ba the work of a young man at the When the fire was blacked out, allel ZATD Three Flights Daily TO HAVANA Leave Arrive Flight Key West Havana 952 10:15 A.M. 11:00 A.M. 954 = «1:45 P.M. 2:30 P.M. 956 4:00 P.M. 4:45 P.M.
