NEWS OF INTEREST Tuesday, July 29, 1952 DOROTHY RAYMER, Society Editor Sailfish Theme Dominating Note At Lively Cocktail And Buffet Fete ‘The sailfish theme, based on a recent fishing exploit of Capt. J. W. Davis, Jr., commanding officer of SubRon Four who is leav- ing Key West for duty in Washington, dominated the lively party given at Echoasis July 25. Guests numbering over 300 were greeted at the entrance by officers’ wives acting as hostesses who distributed clever name cards created of sailfish cutouts. Capt. William A. Spooner, USN, has reported to Airship Develop- ment Squadron 11, Naval Air Sta- tion, Boca Chica from VP-8 NAS Quonset Point, Rhode Island. LCDR. Spooner is the son of Mr. i and Mrs. William A. Spooner, 1201 N. 6th Street, Longview, Texas. LCDR Spooner was designated Na- | val Aviator on 15 December 1949 | and received his heavier-than-air designation on 5 August 1951.
