But’a few min- utes spent in getting utensils ready before dinner can mean a great saving in time afterward, When you use a roasting pan, pour off the grease while it is still warm. Add some dishwashing detergent, and fill the-pan with hot water. Follow the same procedure with saucepans, broiling pans, and other utensils that require soaking for easier washing. Soaking loosens food particles and cuts grease so well that the pans do not need hard scouring. Aluminum, how- ever, still requires steel-wool soap pads. Nothing else removes dark film so quickly. +.
