Armando Henriquez Stands Championships OnE n Defeats James A. *———— Brown With Sets Ot 36, 7-5, 6-1 Armando Henriquez stood the 1951 Men’s Ten: Jn Twin-Bill nis Championships on end yesterday at County Beach” by ousting A. Brown 3-6, 7-5, 6-1. The former ‘University of North Carolina ace breezed through the first set with pre dicted ease and rolled on t 2 and 30-15 when the miracle hap- pened. Young Henriquez, with nothing to lose, began send his big gun, a flat forehand drive, into Brown's feet as he stood oy the base line waiting for victory to fall into his lap. A dozen ham- mer blows from Armando zoom- ed into the base line and within two minutes the tide had tu and James A. Brown was f ing for his life. At a set apiece, Armando was expected to fade quietly, content with his one set, but instead he continued his on- slaught within the slightest evi dence of let-up. Brown never had a chance to counter-attack Armando swept on through final set in 15 minutes.
