The sawfish weighed approximately 1000 pounds, meas- ured 1414 feet in length, 82 inches in width: The saw measured 40 inches, with 25 teeth on either side... A party composed of Enrique’ Fernandez Evangelista, Elpido' Perales Baliondoing, P.U. Libous; Frank Perez,-Poiciano Baytari de Leon and Eddie Pernandez were riding along the boulevard last Sunday when they spotted what appeared to be a large shark floating in the water on the inside of the bridge. Investigation revealed the presence of the sawfish. Proceeding to Fernandez’ home the . group secured a pair of crawfish grains and jewfish line and returned to the bridge. Throwing the grains into the fish, the baitle, which lasted over an hour, begun, and after much stren- | uous effort the sawfish was landed. Pulling the fish from the water it. was hauled to the Seaplane Base where photographs were taken of the catch. How the fish ever got inside the bridge is a question yet unanswered, since during the struggle to land it, it made several attempts to swim through the piling to the outside but did not succeed in gaining its freedom.
