Albury, city recreation director, today made th ie following statement: “I wish to deny most emphatically. a statement appearing in the columns of the Key West Citizen last Saturday by a person to me unknown, «tating that, ‘The youngsters of the city are not al- lowed to use, Bayview Park in the section where the grass grows and the other part i 80, no play at all would be allow- ed in the park, as the entire area is covered with grass except for where the different play courts are located. Hundreds of children use‘this park daily for their var- ious ‘activities. This can be veri- fied ‘by the many visiting the park and the passerby. “Not only are the children al- lowed to use the park, but are strongly encouraged to do so. Most any hour of the day, after- noon and eyening you can find a part or all of the various play areas occupied. “There are available for use. 2 basketball courts, 2 tennis courts (another almost completed), 1€) Shuffle board courts, skating court for yongsters, a volley ball net and softball fields for youngsters and grown ups (grown ups. now being reactivated). “Equipment is furnished for basketball, shuffleboard, volley ball and balls and bats ofr soft- ball to youngsters.
