Rafael Sabatini,’ Author, Died In Switzerland Today BERNE, Feb. 13.—(#).—The creator of that fictional character ‘Captain Blood,” author Rafael Sabatini, died in Switzerland to- day after many years of illness, In his lifetime, Sabatini had written more than forty histori- eal fovels—“The Sea © Hawk,” “The Snare.” “Scaramouche,” “The Black Swan,” and, . of course, the Cu »ptain Blood ~ro- Inances: Part Malian and part English, Sabatini chose medevial Italy as the setting for many of his stories. He was meticulous in his backgrounds and settings, often spending hours in the British museum in London te make sure his backgrounds were historicatly correct.
