THURSDAY, JANUARY 12, 1950 Partial Approval ven Schools building Plans Partial approval was given the plans submitted to the State Department of Education for Monroe's public schools by Hor. ace O'Bryant, superintendent of Public instruction and by Arch- itect William Merriam of Coral Gables. O'Bryant said today, following his return yesterday from Talla- hassee, that the state architect has made same valuable sugges- tions in the tentative plans sub- mitted, added that Architect Merriam is now making slight changes to the plans. Later the revised plans will be submitted to the state archi- fect for his approval. After ‘they are approved, O'Bryant said he. would advertise for bids for the actual work, which was estimat- ed to cost $453,000. Of course, O’Bryant said, the eontracts would not be’ let until after the funds from the $500,- 000 bond issue is in the School Board's hands.
